Rain, rain, rain

Well seems the rainy season is officially here- we have had 4 straight days of rain thanks to a passing typhoon. The downpour has led to flooding and "brownouts" across Metro Manila. Anyone else ever heard the term brownout??! Here if there is a small, localised power failure it is called a "brownout" and for larger-scale power outages it's a blackout.
