There are times when it is really hard to be away from home

My wonderful grandmother passed away last night and this morning I was woken by the news. Oma was the most vivacious, opinionated, adventurous and mischevious woman I have known and I will miss her dearly. Am feeling very sorry for myself and just wishing I could have made it back to Sydney in time to say goodbye. The lovely phone calls from friends and family are a great comfort but it is times like this that it is really hard to be so far from home.
